In a Nutshell

I learned to cook at age 9 and when I was 12, I could cook a pancake breakfast and grill Sunday dinner for our family of seven.  I became fascinated with hotels when I used to fly around Fort Worth and Dallas with my dad, who worked for Bell Helicopter, and we would fly in and out of luxurious hotels near the several military contractors in the area.

After school, I opened the Fort Worth Hilton and over four years was bar manager, purchasing agent and catering director.  I then worked for the Las Vegas Hilton as assistant bar manager, director of restaurants, convention services manager and room service manager.

In 1990 I became director of special events for a leading destination management company in Las Vegas and produced events and shows for our offices here and in Washington, Chicago, San Francisco and New York.

In 2000, I started John Miller Events, a one-man company with expertise in all phases of special events, including venues, hotel negotiations, catering, entertainment and productions large and small.
